We understand it may take time to process your payment, and The RTC will make every reasonable attempt to accommodate your payment policies. In most cases, unless specified otherwise, your registration status will be set to “Approved” pending your payment, and your spot in the course is secured. Payments must be received ten (10) business days before the start of class. If you anticipate a delay in paying your invoice, please contact us at the information below, and we will be happy to arrange a late payment for you.
Cancellations for classes that begin with an online component are based on the online start date.
If you wish to pay via credit card, an online processing fee of 2.99% will be applied to all transactions.
If a student cannot attend a training course, please notify RTC staff at least fourteen (14) calendar days before the course start date. Cancellations for classes that begin with an online component are based on the online start date.
Cancellations made fourteen (14) calendar days before the class start date will be reimbursed in full, minus third-party transaction and/or processing fees incurred by The RTC. Substitutions are permitted with prior approval. Cancellations made between thirteen (13) and eight (8) calendar days before the start of the course will be billed at 50% of the tuition cost. Cancelations which occur within seven (7) calendar days of the course start date will be billed full tuition. As a courtesy and case-by-case basis, The RTC may allow students to apply 50% of the payment toward a future RTC Training course within one year of the cancellation date.
Students who register for training within the fourteen (14) calendar days before the course start date and who are not substitutions will receive full reimbursement for the tuition paid, minus transaction and/or processing fees incurred by RTC, or will not be billed as applicable.

Students who fail to attend without proper advanced notification will be charged full tuition for the course and cannot apply any portion of the tuition toward future training. Students may also be deselected from future course offerings.
For State Law Enforcement Commission (POST/TCOLE) Reimbursable Courses: Student travel and per diem are reimbursable via State Training Reimbursement Request (TRR) for State reimbursable agencies only.
For Non-Reimbursable Courses: Students are responsible for arranging flights, travel to and from class, lodging, and meals. Travel, lodging, and per diem are non-reimbursable unless stated otherwise.

Payments made via credit card will be refunded to the card used to make the purchase. If a direct credit card refund is unavailable for any reason, refunds will be paid within thirty (30) days by check. Payments made via check, or cash will be reimbursed within thirty (30) days by check.
The RTC reserves the right to cancel or change a class at any time for reasons including, but not limited to, lack of participation, classroom availability, equipment viability/failure, or trainer availability. Notification will be provided within twenty one (21) days of the class, whenever possible. Registrants will not be charged for the course.
The RTC is not liable for any direct, indirect, consequential, or special damages that may be incurred due to a cancellation of a scheduled class, including, but not limited to, cancellation penalties for transportation or accommodations. The customer or student’s sole remedy shall be the refund of prepaid course fees.
The RTC shall not be liable for damages of any kind resulting from errors or omissions in the training materials, nor shall The RTC be liable for any damages resulting from the use of the training materials or other information conveyed at an RTC course.
For courses with an online component, participants are required to have access to a stable internet connection and a device capable of accessing Google Services (Google Chrome, Gmail, and Google Classroom). The RTC leverages Google Services for streamlined email correspondence and to facilitate a conducive virtual classroom environment. Login credentials and other essential information for courses with an online component are dispatched to the primary email address provided by the student. These communications often encompass links and images and may be addressed to multiple recipients.
The RTC is not responsible for delays resulting from an organization’s email firewall policies that might hinder the timely receipt of these emails. Therefore, we encourage students to vigilantly monitor their email accounts, including spam folders, to ensure they receive and promptly respond to, all necessary communications about the course’s online segment.
All course materials, content, and teachings are the intellectual property of The RTC. Participants are prohibited from copying, distributing, or using any course content for any commercial purposes without express written permission from The RTC.
In the event of unforeseen circumstances beyond The RTC’s control, including but not limited to natural disasters, acts of God, war, labor strikes, or pandemic crises, we reserve the right to postpone or cancel courses without liability. We will make every effort to notify participants in a timely manner and work towards a suitable resolution, which may include rescheduling or refunding the course fees.
The RTC strives to provide an inclusive and accessible learning environment. If you require special accommodations due to a disability or any other reason, please inform us at least ten (10) business days before the course start date so we can make any reasonable arrangements to facilitate your participation.
All participants are expected to adhere to a code of conduct that promotes a respectful and inclusive learning environment. Any harassment, discrimination, or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. Participants violating this code may be asked to leave the course without a refund.
The RTC reserves the right to amend this policy at any time. All changes will be communicated to registered participants in a timely manner. Continuing with the course registration constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
The laws of California govern this policy and any disputes arising from it. Parties agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of California courts in case of any legal disputes.
